Happy Saturday, Missians!
For those of you who listened live, I hope you enjoyed today's episode, "Little Known Pet Holidays and Observances". It turned out to be a fun show for me and D, as we got to learn about a lot of different animal holidays we'd never heard of. Some of them were pretty wacky and others were important holidays promoting the welfare of animals. We apologize to any of you who were listening live and got cut off toward the end. We ended up going over by about 10 or 15 minutes; but anything you may have missed can be picked up in the archives.
I was just sitting here looking over some of the holidays we didn't get to talk about, and I ran across, "National Answer Your Cat's Question Day" on January 22nd. I definitely think that's one I have to do some research on. Not really sure how you would answer your cat's question. Missy has given me some questioning looks before, but I've never been able to decipher what her question was. Are there people out there who can answer their cats' questions? Perhaps with the aid of a pet psychic? Hmmm....................................
Then there are important holidays such as "National Animal Poison Prevention Week" which is the third full week of March, and "Puppy Mill Action" week in May (which starts the Monday before Mother's Day). So if you are heavily into animal rights, some of these may be holidays you would want to be aware of. We will have the site for these animal and pet holidays on our Facebook page.
Once again, thanks for everyone's support. September was an awesome month for The Missy Show.
We had a great interview with the President of Vibrant Pets; we discussed the best pet options for families with children; we got to spread some education about animal abuse; and we ended the month on a wacky, yet educational note with our discussion of pet holidays.
Now next week can begin our October Pet Spooktacular episodes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So be sure to join us as we discuss Psychic Pets next Saturday at 5pm, Central.
Until next time, enjoy the rest of your Saturday, people--and always treat our animal friends love, kindness, and respect.
