National Black Cat Appreciation Day

Mondo Missy Monday, everyone!

I hope you're all off to a great start to your Monday morning so far.  I didn't want to be a day late on another pet holiday the way I was last week, so I want to make sure everyone knows that today is National Black Cat Appreciation Day!  I know it seems like this holiday should be in October, but it's not--so let's go ahead and show some love to all the silky, raven colored felines out there; and if you're the pet parent to a black cat, go ahead and give your kitty an extra treat today--they deserve it!  Side note:  I did find it interesting that October 1st is National Black Dog Day, and the whole month is Bat Appreciation Month; one week is also dedicated to wolf awareness, (so no black cats, but still we find some of the types of animal holidays you'd expect to find in October).  Go figure.

Congrats to those of you who got Friday's pet trivia questions correct:

What is the largest domesticated cat?
The Savannah is accepted by some, though it's mixed with some wild Serval cat genes.
The totally domesticated winner would go to the Maine Coon.

What is the smelliest animal?
The Striped Polecat also known as a Zorilla.

Stay tuned for this Friday's trivia question.  That's all for now, Missians.   Go forth and have a Mondo Missy Monday and be kind to a black cat today.
