Avoid the Sharks: Featured Animal Post

Happy Fursday, Missians!

It's that time again--time for another Featured Animal Post.  With warmer weather now here in many parts of the country, more of us are likely to be hitting area beaches; and one of the main beach activities is usually swimming.  Unfortunately in certain waters, shark attacks are a real possibility.  With that being said, today we're going to highlight the Shark as our Featured Animal of the Week and provide information on how to stay safe while still having fun at the beach.

Check out defenders.org for basic shark facts:  http://www.defenders.org/sharks/basic-facts

What to do if you're ever actually attacked by a sharkhttp://finance.yahoo.com/news/youre-attacked-shark-152944509.html

Just remember, you can still enjoy yourself at the beach--just be vigilant and cautious; and if all else fails, follow the protocol that D and I adhere to:  Chill out on a blanket or beach chair with a good book and a cool drink, and watch other people venture out into the water!

But if you absolutely must get wet in some way, just stay right at the edge of the shore line and only submerge your feet--or just use common sense and don't go out super far.  That's not so hard, is it?

At any rate, if any of you are hitting the beach this weekend, have fun, stay safe, and look out for your family and friends.  We'll hit you guys up again tomorrow with another pet trivia post!

Until then,

This is your host J,
