North Shore Animal League

Happy Wild Out Whiskers Wednesday, Missians!

Glad you guys could join us for another "Joy of Giving" Christmas post, featuring another special animal organization.  Today's organization may be familiar to you if you've ever tuned in to any of our Puppy and Kitten Bowl episodes or read our blog posts during that time, (which is coming up again pretty soon, by the way).  This organization has offered up some of the cutest kitten players in Hallmark Channel's annual Kitten Bowl.  The name of this special organization is none other than North Shore Animal League.

Here's vital information about North Shore Animal League from the "About Us" section on their website:  http://www.animalleague.org/about-us/who-we-are/

Who We Are

Since 1944, North Shore Animal League America has been saving the lives of innocent dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens — over 1,000,000 to date.

We have an unwavering commitment to rescue, nurture, and adopt animals and are proud
to be:
  • The world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization;
  • A leader in the no-kill movement, rescuing and rehabilitating animals instead of euthanizing them;
  • An innovator in animal welfare to create a more sustainable world for all companion animals;
  • A strong voice, elevating the status and promoting the acceptance of mixed-breed animals — Mutt-i-grees® — through advocacy and education;
  • A collaborative organization that’s built a national network of shelter and rescue partners;
  • A trusted source for information, education, and resources that increase adoptions and enhance the lives of adopters and their pets.

How We Help

Rescuing animals from overcrowded shelters, unwanted litters, and from owners no longer able to care for them are at the heart of our life-saving efforts.
huskyIncrease Adoptions
The Animal League increases adoptions and raises awareness of shelter animals through innovative programs, education, mobile programs, and partnerships.
dogEnd Animal Cruelty
Our no-kill policy and important programs help reduce animal cruelty and euthanasia.

mobileRescue Animals
Our hands-on rescue efforts secure permanent homes for so many displaced animals — over 1,000,000 to date.

togetherReduce Euthanasia
From mixed-breed shelter pet awareness and spay/neuter initiatives to our comprehensive education efforts, the Animal League helps reduce unwanted births and increase adoptions to reduce euthanasia.

The Missy Show wants to honor and thank everyone at North Shore Animal League for their commitment to all these deserving and beautiful animals.  Thank you for being a "no-kill" animal rescue and adoption organization; and thank you for all the beautiful kittens you showcase in the kitten bowl.  Thanks for giving them the exposure and a real chance at being adopted.  You truly exhibit the Joy of Giving; and we look forward to next year's Kitten Bowl (and Puppy Bowl); and we hope your organization will be participating again in 2017.  Keep doing what you do best!

Please visit North Shore's website and check out the many wonderful things they do for animals.  Donate if you can, and if not, why not adopt?
