Happy Valentine's Day, Missians!
We hope all of our readers have an awesome time today with their sweethearts; and for those of you lacking sweethearts of the human kind, then cuddle up with your furry four-legged sweeties! Kisses and hugs to you all--muah!
In addition to today being Valentine's Day, it's also National Pet Theft Awareness Day. Every year millions of pets are stolen or disappear. Pet Theft Awareness Day serves to encourage all of us to be vigilant in ensuring precautions are in place for keeping our pets safe from thieves. Some possible precautions include getting your pet micro-chipped, making sure they have proper I.D. tags, never letting them wander through the neighborhood unattended, and never leaving them unattended in a vehicle, (whether it's hot or not)!
Did you know that having your pet spade or neutered, cuts down on their tendency to roam? When dogs or cats go through heat cycles, they're more likely to try to escape the confines of their yard in search of some love of their own, (and we don't mean the Valentine's kind). This is great to keep in mind if you have an outdoor pet.
Also be sure to keep recent pictures of your pet. These can come in handy if Fido or Kitty goes missing. In addition to the above tips, also be sure to keep those Valentine's flowers and candies out of the reach of your pets. Many cats will readily eat flower petals, (some dogs too, I'm sure); and most dogs will gladly eat any chocolate human treats left lying around. Even though these things make for a happy human Valentine's, they can cause poisoning and/or tummy issues for our furry friends.
With all that said, here's to wishing everyone, (humans and pets alike), a very Happy Valentine's Day, from The Missy Show!
Until next time,
