National Farrier's Week

Happy Fursday, Missians!

Thanks for checking out another edition of the blog.  Did you guys know that this is National Farriers week?  If you're like me, you're probably wondering what a Farrier is.  Well here's a clear cut definition from National Calendar Day.

NATIONAL FARRIERS WEEK

National Farriers Week honors the men and women who care for and maintain the hooves of horses. This highly specialized trade requires skill in hoof care, blacksmithing, as well as care of injured and diseased hooves. While caring for these amazing animals, it is not unusual to receive calls at odd hours, to be stepped on, bitten or otherwise nudged, nibbled or nuzzled.  If you have a favorite farrier, be sure to send a thank you during National Farriers Week.

I think I can't say it any better than that.  So, as stated above, if you're a horse owner, and you have a favorite farrier who assists in the care of your special equine's hooves, then why not give them a shout out, or do something nice for them this week?

There won't be a post tomorrow, but meet me back here on Saturday, because we have several holidays to cover on that day!

Until then,

This is your host J,
signing off...

Thank you for protecting the hoofs of horses!
