It's time for a brand new Christmas in July post (our second to the last one).  This post will be less Christmasy, and more about animals.  In today's post, we explore some of the friendliest members of the animal kingdom.

Our first friendliest animal is a critter we've covered here at The Missy Show before, The Capybara...


1. CAPYBARA


Don’t be fooled by the enormous size of this mammal. Capybara is the friendliest animal in the world. Belonging to the Hydrochaeridae family, Capybara is an exceptional rodent and also the largest in the world. They are native to Central and South America, mostly found in swampy areas and close to water bodies. Capybaras grow as tall as 2 feet and weigh up to 65kgs. They gaze on grass (adults eat nearly 8 pounds of grass each day) and need water all the time to supplement their dry skin. They are also excellent swimmers.
This tailless, webbed feet, the brown-haired animal is immensely social and trainable; thus a dear friend to everyone. Capybara lives in large groups usually contain 10 to 30 members, howvever, during dry season it can be more than 30 members. The most dominant capybara is the leader and he is responsible for the safety of other members. The aimal species are excellent swimmers and divers. Females used to take care of the young species because they can easily attacked by jaguars. The average lifespan of the species 8-10 years in the wild and 12 years in captivity.
Our next friendliest animal is a no-brainer.  Of course, it's the doggies!

2. Dog


The innocent eyes of furballs are something you can’t take your eyes off of. One of the most common domestic animals in the world, Dogs have earned the honour of being man’s best friend since forever. They understand human emotions and sentiments better than any other animal. Undoubtedly, they are considered immensely faithful and friendly. And nothing stands in front of their cuteness. Dogs have helped us in innumerable ways. All of them are equally lovable and trustworthy. Dogs can be trained easily and prove their obedience in the meantime.
Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever and Beagles are few of the best dogs for kids and families. It is one of the friendliest animals in the world. Also, read about biggest dog breeds in the world.Dog’s don’t like rains because the sound of the rain hurts their sensitive ears. The most unique feature is that they can smell week-old human fingerprints. It is beilieved that earliest European images of dogs dated back to 12,000 years found in the cave drawings of the Spain. Puppies have 28 teeth, however, adult dogs have 42 teeth with six incisors and two canines at the front of the mouth.

3. DOLPHIN


One of the smartest animals in the world, Dolphins are known for their social skills and friendly behaviour. They are surprisingly intelligent and mostly harmless. These grey coloured aquatic animals are playful near humans and other beings too. They are often spotted following ships and boats. Humans and Dolphins share a special relationship, which has been dated back to many years. Iceland’s Cost is one of the most sorted destinations for Dolphin spotting.
Tourists get a chance to see various types of Dolphins in their natural habitat. Dolphins usually saw in large groups known as pods and they are popular as social and very playful animals. They have a hole at the top of the head from where they breathe atmospheric air. There are some dolphins that can stay 20 seconds underwater, however, some of them can stay 30 minutes without returning to the surface of the water.
And of course, up next is my all-time favorite animal, the cat.  Although because they can be more independent at times, I wasn't sure that they'd be on the list--but at the same time, when cats are in the mood to be bothered, they're super loving animals.

4. CAT


Playful and freewheeling. Cats are often known for their bossy attitude. But they are extremely friendly at the same time. They chortle and purr to express their contentment and it is pure elation to be around these carefree four-legged mammals. Not to forget the scratches, but they also love to be around their loved ones. This relaxed and playful animal is one of the cutest animals. They prefer to keep themselves clean.
Tonkinese is one of the most social cat breeds whereas Maine Coon is one of the largest domesticated breeds. Aren’t they fascinating? You will also like to read about beautiful cat breeds in the world. It is belived that the cats has been domesticated for more than 4,000 years because of thier hunting abilities, however, now they are known for thier companionship and loving behaviour. One of the most populat pets on USA and UK with over 48 recognised cat breeds and pedigrees in Australia. They have 30 teeth and most of them are very sharp.

5. GIANT PANDA


Mountains of Central China is home to Giant Pandas. They are not only the cutest creatures but also the friendliest. 99% of their diet consists of Bamboo. These Pandas weighing up to 135kg are excited in nature and fun-loving. The Black and White Pandas are considered a national treasure. Unfortunately, they fall into the group of Endangered species. Well, The Giant Panda Research and Breeding Centre in Chengdu, China lets visitors spend time with these adorable creatures.
Baby pandas listed as one of the cutest baby animals in the world. The panda’s molars are very broad and the shape of the teeth is in such a way that it helps them to crush the bamboo shoots, leaves, and stems that they eat. They hod the bamboo with their front paws and eat them with their mouth and have enlarged wrist bones that act as thumbs for gripping. Pandas will be able to climb as long as 13,000 feet and are also very good swimmers.

6. RABBIT


One of the friendliest animals in the world, the cute Bunnies belong to the Leporidae family. These herbivore animals are friendly in nature and always curious. With powerful hind limbs, rabbits hop around from one place to another. Grass constitutes a major part of their diet. Their big ears and long front teeth make them the cutest. Rabbits also make amazing pets. Their social and playful attitude acts as a positive trait. Some rabbits are shy in nature, therefore, need a bit more attention.
Rabbits are one of the cutest animals in the world. They are very conscious about their space, you will realize this when you adopt a rabbit because they are very particular about other territory. Firstly, they need a lot of space and secondly, they like to eat and so other things at specific spots and sometimes they grunt when you come up at their place. You need to get the bunnies brushed regularly.

7. GUINEA PIGS


Another member of the rodent family, Guinea Pigs are small domesticated pigs. Weighing as much as 2.5lbs, Guinea Pigs are often found in pairs in the wild. Well, they are not pigs but their appearance has earned them the name. They self-groom themselves. Just like other rodents, their teeth grow throughout their lifespan. This herbivore animal loves eating fruits and vegetables. The interesting thing is seeing a baby Guinea Pig that can run just a few hours after its birth. With a life of 4 years, It is one of the shortest living animals in the world.

8. HORSE


One of the most useful animals to humans known for their luxurious life. The horse is an exotic and glorious animal. You will be surprised to know that there are more than 300 breeds of horses in the world. Though they differ in size and nature, one thing always stays the same; that is the friendly nature. They drink almost 25 gallons of water per day. A horse is a social animal and a group of horses never sleep at the same time, at least one horse stays awake. They have a similar kind of emotion as humans which is reflected in their facial expression.

9. SWAN


The curved neck bird is an integral part of the mythology. Swans are an epitome of love, unity and loyalty. They never leave their partner and stay devoted. Belonging to the waterfowl family, Swans feed on both water and land. Although they turn aggressive while protecting their cygnets, Swans are friendly in nature. Mute Swans are the most elegant and largest birds among others.

10. SHEEP


Sheep don’t just bring their master bags full of wool, they are curly and cute. They were first domesticated decades back. Today, Australia, India and New Zealand are major contributors to Sheep production. There are more than 200 breeds of sheep. They are found in a group called flock. Lambs are one of the cutest baby animals. Their socials and non-aggressive nature help them to be a companion of humans.
