Manatee Appreciation

Happy Friday, Missians!

In honor of the fact that I missed Manatee Appreciation Day, two days ago, today's Featured Animal will be the Manatee.  But before I get into what makes the manatee such a cool animal to celebrate, I just want to let you guys know the topic of our first episode for this year.  It might seem a bit controversial, or risqué, but our April 15th episode is entitled:  "Animal Sex:  Reproduction, Pleasure, or Both?"

What we mean here by animal sex, is intercourse between two animals.  At this time, we're not going into the subject of bestiality, which involves humans and animals, (yuck).  Even though the psychology behind what motivates people to do such things is fascinating, I'll let that topic remain in the shadows.  My only comment on that:  People, get help; and leave the animals alone!

I'll have a synopsis for our April 15th show in the next blog post.  We also have our April 29th episode scheduled.  It'll be entitled, "Insect Politics: Should Insects Have the Same Rights as Animals?" The next episodes will be scheduled and included in the next post along with the April 15th episode synopsis, (that was supposed to be today, but crap happened).

Okay, on to the Manatee, AKA, The Sea Cow.  They look like they should be pretty peaceful creatures who just want to be left alone to do their own thing.  Whether that assessment is correct, I'm about to find out by reading these awesome Manatee Facts, courtesy of Live Science.  Click the link below if you want to know more too:

And by the way, Happy Belated Manatee Awareness Day!

Here's to wishing you guys and awesome Friday and weekend.  I'll see you back here for another Missy post next week.
